Joel Dearing Joins Sovereign City as Vice President of Programming; Begins Mixing Secret Sauce

Green Bay, Wis.—Sovereign City Communications (SCC), announced today that Joel Dearing has joined the company as its new vice president of programming. Dearing will oversee the day-to-day programming operations for the new syndicator and will first focus on refining Sovereign City’s new Adult Contemporary (AC) format.

“Joel Dearing has made success a habit and we plan on encouraging that trait in his new leadership role with our company,” stated Joseph R. Giganti, SCC’s president and COO. “As we move ever closer to launching our new hybrid AC format in the New Year, it is important to have such a strong broadcaster on board for the maiden voyage.

“In particular, I believe Joel will be key in developing a syndicated format that while national in its nature will, perhaps for the first time, sound and feel truly local,” Giganti continued. Dearing is known in the industry for his creativity, tenacity and consistently delivering ratings success. He brings a wealth of experience that includes stints in country, AC and Top 40 radio; and most recently programmed two Clear Channel stations in Virginia. “There’s an old adage that people are policy, thankfully Joel was available and by adding him to our team we wish to send a clear message to the industry of our commitment to excellence,” Giganti added.
